Testicular Hypothermia Device (THD)

The Testicular Hypothermia Device (THD) provides a non-invasive alternative to surgery and may be the only treatment where surgery and medication have failed or where there is no varicocele present.

Thermal Cautery System:
  • Non-invasive
  • No hormone injections
  • No electrical power required
  • Pregnancy achieved by 52% of infertile patients who began treatment with an MOI of greater than 4.8
  • Semen improvement can occur in as little as 14 weeks (time may vary).

The Testicular Hypothermia Device (THD) represents fifteen years of experimentation into the causes and treatment of male infertility due to elevated testicular temperature associated with poor semen.  The THD lowers scrotal temperature by the controlled evaporation of a liquid from a scrotal covering.  This liquid is dispersed on the surface of the scrotal covering by a pump containing a fluid reservoir and a metering device which controls the flow rate so that the scrotal covering is kept barely damp allowing for comfortable wearing.  This evaporation results in a scrotal decrease of about two degrees Celsius and is intended to restore to the testicle its ability to produce and mature sperm normally.
