Position Overview

Vice President of Technology will be responsible for the long-range direction of the organization’s engineering function in leading the research for new products, product enhancements, and product redesign.


Essential Job Functions

  • Oversees, develops, and implements methods/ procedures for monitoring projects; including preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project.
  • Negotiates contracts with consulting firms to perform research or other applicable studies or support.
  • Plans and formulates aspects of Research & Development proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, equipment and human resource requirements.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with regional counterparts, manufacturers, and other departments daily with regard to all aspects of product life cycle.
  • Leads the review of new preliminary and concept product designs to determine acceptability and appropriate product classification for corporate initiatives and new product launches.
  • Keep abreast of general & product specific regulatory developments in projects of responsibility
  • Direct strategic design, acquisition, management, and implementation of a companywide technology infrastructure
  • Monitors and analyzes technology and trends that could improve the company’s products and performance
  • Establishes technology standards and communicates technical information to the organization
  • Originate new products in concert with voice of customer needs and business model.
  • Defines correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing products.



  • Advanced degree in Mechanical / Bio-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Research & Development experience at a Sr. Managerial level within a Medical Device manufacturing, assembly, or production environment organization.
  • Technical problem solving with proficient use of statistical and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated comprehension of risk-based decision making, verification testing, and validation.
  • Comprehensive experience in Design for Manufacturability of injection molding part assembly and design.
  • Proficient in modeling and calculations of fluid dynamics systems.
  • Leading people and teams to drive organizational change.
