RMS Gives PI Patients a Voice Through Social Media Campaign

Chester, NY – As April comes to a close, so does the 9th World Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) Week campaign, which took place April 22 – 29, 2019. April is also Primary Immunodeficiency Awareness Month. This years’ World PI Week theme put the spotlight on patient care. In our effort to help spread awareness, we (the RMS marketing team) took the initiative to create a campaign of our own.

Everyone has a story to tell and many PI patients are passionate about promoting awareness for their disease. We are seeing more and more patients with chronic illness share their stories with the community and our goal was to bring those stories to light.

We reached out to patients with Primary Immunodeficiencies through social media, asking if they would be interested in having their “PI story” and photo featured on our page during World PI Week. The response was amazing. Once we started sharing stories, the more stories we started receiving. We are very pleased with the results of the campaign.

RMS’ mission is to improve patient quality of life, not solely through the design and development of new products but also through social avenues. Our goal is to be a resource to patients around the world. We look forward to continuing promoting PI awareness along with other chronic illnesses and sharing industry related news.
